If you have never tried it before, you will be surprised at how easy it actually is to do. This is providing that you are willing to put some time and effort into it. All it takes is a little perseverance and the right education.

Jeff Bezos originally wanted to give the company the magical sounding name “Cadabra.” Todd Tarbert convinced him that the name sounded too much like ‘cadaver.’ He then wanted the company to be called Relentless, and if you visit Relentless.com you can guess where it navigates to.

He finally chose “Amazon” because he liked that the company would be named after the largest river in the world, hence the company’s original logo.

The last great climb in stock prices began in 2008 and the company has managed to stay on top. Amazon’s goal for the stock price is $400.  The progress has gradually continued steadily over the years and there is no sign that this company’s growth will stop anytime soon.

It is best to base your website on a specific topic, and also a niche topic that is not too broad.

Take a visit to Amazon.com and see what they have to offer if you don’t have any ideas in mind.

If you click on departments, you will get an idea of what they sell. Let’s go to pet supplies for example.

Personally, I wouldn’t build a website about pet supplies, as this would be way too broad and you will find lots of competition out there for broad keywords.

Narrow down your search to say for instance ‘poodle products’ or ‘amazon parrots.’ In this way focus on attracting a specific type of person to visit your website.

Try to choose a topic you know something about or would like to learn something about, as there is nothing worse than trying to come up for content for your website and you don’t know what to write about or the topic doesn’t interest you. You will end up throwing in the towel after just a few articles.

Over time, as you produce more and more content, you will get more and more visitors to your website.

Once you have sufficient visitors to your website each day, I would say over 30 visitors a day, then I would apply to become an Amazon Affiliate.

The reason you should wait until the traffic comes is that once you sign up as an Affiliate with Amazon, you have to make a sale within 90 days. You won’t make a sale unless you are getting traffic, and you are not allowed to buy from yourself or you will be banned.

There are many ways in which to do this, and I am going to tell you my favourite methods.

Once you have applied as an affiliate, you will go into your dashboard and it should look something like this. I am going to use Labradors as an example here and I want to see if I can write an article about Labrador Jerseys. I would like to see if they have any products like this available.

Type the product name that you would like to find in the search box and click on go.

Unfortunately, they don’t have too much there, and the one product they do have is a jersey for a few different types of large dogs. It costs $9.99 which is reasonable, but the commission would probably be under a dollar for each jersey you sell.

If your post ranks well and gets lots of visitors you may well end up selling many jerseys and getting fair commissions. If there is not too much competition out there for Labrador Jerseys and if people are looking for this type of product you may do well. Remember this is only one post on your website, so many posts like this and the commissions will slowly add up.

You will need to do some keyword research to see if this is a viable product to write an article about. I do all my keyword research using Jaaxy.

If you decide to use this product, click on the get link button. Don’t be scared of promoting more expensive products. You may sell fewer of them, but the commissions are a lot higher.

You will now see three tabs. You can choose if you want text and image, which gives you an image like the one above, text only or image only.

I normally use text only and then image only, and in that way, I can have a text link to the product on my article and also a picture of the product which people can click on. Once you have the type of image that you want, you simply click on Highlight HTML and then copy it.

Paste this into the code editor section of your website, not the text editor for it to show correctly.

It should look something like this on your website, depending on what you are promoting.

Your readers will be able to click on the heading or on the picture to go straight through to Amazon to purchase the product via your affiliate link.

It is the best way to really make sure that your website will have interesting content in your chosen niche. It is also very easy to become an authority in your niche if you produce quality content that will help people.

Great history of Amazon!  I had no idea about the different names- and the background about the logo.  I knew it was a smile but never realized the swipe went from the A- to Z.  Their name is very appropriate now for how huge they have become. I am with WA as well and do have an Amazon Affiliate account.  Great ideas on niching down as well.  It can definitely be overwhelming choosing products to sell.
