Do you have a website that you haven’t worked on for ages. If you have a website sitting there getting cobwebs, I am going to tell you how to earn more income with your old website, and it sure is easier than starting a new website from scratch.
How To Earn More Income With Your Old Website
This website that you are on now was started way back in 2010. Back then I was messing about and didn’t have any training so I posted now and then and hoped for the best.
Even though I hardly got any traffic, I kept paying my domain fees each year and thought maybe one day it would take.
Then came the day in May 2015 that I joined Wealthy Affiliate, and that is when I managed to turn this website into something much better. My traffic is now looking good and I even earn from this site. I have also since started other niche sites which are all bringing me sales each month.
Here Are The Most Common Ways To Make Money With A Website

So as you can see from the list there is just so much you can do with a website to make money, and the older the website and domain name, the easier it is going to be to rank in the Search Engines, provided your domain hasn’t been blacklisted. With an older website, the following methods work better:
Adding Content
The best way to update an old website is to add some quality content to it. The more quality content a website has, the better it is going to rank in the search engines.
Aim to write articles that are over 1000 words long for more impact. If you look at the search results, the longer articles are tending to rank better than their shorter counterparts, the main reason being is that you can give a more in depth explanation with a longer article.
Updating Old Content
Taking old content and updating it is a wonderful trick I use to almost instantly rank an article. When editing your old article, be careful not to change the URL name, rather change the date to now, and add more content to the existing article to make it better.
Remember when rewriting your content to add images and generally make sure the article is a lot more beneficial for your readers. Always remember that you are writing for humans and not for search engines, so never put anything out there that you wouldn’t like to read yourself.
Having great content on your website means that half the battle is won, as Google loves helpful content and always rank it well, providing the keyword you use isn’t too competitive.
I find rewriting content a great way to boost my website rankings, and it saves a lot of time, as you don’t need to completely write new articles.
Adding Products
This is a no brainer. Look at your articles and see if there are any related products you could recommend. The secret is to keep the products you recommend relative to your article.
For example, if you are writing about keyword research tools, now would be a great time to recommend a few that you know to be good.
Do you have any products of your own to sell. This may be a great opportunity to sell that eBook you wrote a year ago.
Adsense
Adsense is a great way to earn more income on your website on autopilot. However, don’t go overboard here, as many visitors don’t like to be bombarded with adverts when they visit a website and will simply leave if this is the case.
Adsense works best when you are getting a lot of visitors to your website daily, so you won’t do well with this on a new website.
Flipping Websites
Believe it or not, there’s almost always a market out there for your website.
That means if you’ve built up a following (or possibly even sold a few products or included advertising on your site), you might be able to sell it to someone else and make some quick cash.
I prefer building something myself for the long term, but many people enjoy building and flipping websites and buying an older website is very beneficial for a lot of people who want to start making money right away.
Selling websites can be quite lucrative. For example, if your website is making $500 per/month through selling ad space, you should be able to sell the site for $5,000 – $10,000 (which is about 12x – 22x monthly income).
Offering Services
If people land on your website, they can see what your writing style is like, so you could offer to write articles for their websites at a price. This is a great way to get some extra work, as you can showcase your talents on your website.
You could even offer to build a website for someone. This task is daunting for most people, so why not offer to make their lives easier and set up their websites for them.
So now you can see the potential that you have to earn more income with your old website.
