Ever wondered how to use safelist advertising so that they can work for you? They are a bit of an old fashioned way of marketing, but if you use them correctly, they can still work for you.
Why Do I Use Safelists?
Ever since I started marketing on the internet, I have been using Safelists for a number of reasons:
- Free Advertising Never Hurts and this is my number one reason.
- It takes me no more than a half-hour a day and I always get at least one or two new leads
- It is a great way to build credibility on the internet. The more people see your face around, the more they get to know and trust you.
- It is really easy to get people to click on your links (free credits for them of course).
- It is an easy way to market, especially for newbies.
There are of course good and bad safelists, and if you want a list of my most responsive ones, see my top 10 safelists. As you are probably aware, new safelists are opening every day, and a good way to judge how well they are doing is by the number of members that are joining up. If the admin is experienced, then you will see the membership base grow to at least 1000 in the first month or two of the launch.
One tip when joining a safelist is to make sure that you join up with ones that offer a credit swapping system. This is the only way to ensure that your emails get opened and the links clicked on, as people will obviously click on your emails to earn credits for themselves in order that they may post adverts themselves.
List blasters in my experience don’t work as well, because unless you have an outstanding headline, people won’t even bother opening your email as there is nothing in it for them.
There are a lot of so-called email blasters or non-credit safelists on the net offering really good prices to join up and blast out to millions, but in most cases, you will battle to get traffic using these methods.
How To Use Safelist Advertising
Most safelists use the same script and operate in more or less the same way. You basically sign up, then go to send mail and blast out your mail providing, of course, you have credits.
Most safelist advertising is free, and your only requirement will be to open emails and click on the link within. Once the timer has gone down you will get a picture that you need to match in order to get your credits.
I advise you to open up a Gmail account for all your safelist marketing, as you don’t want all those emails landing up in your regular inbox. Most of the sites only accept Gmail as this platform generally works well for this type of marketing.
Within Gmail, I like to label all my separate accounts with the mailers, as you see below, so that each email goes into separate folders under that account name. That way if I need to get credits quickly for a specific mailer it is easy to find the list of emails from them to click on quickly.
It is a good idea to become a paid member with some of the better safelists, as you won’t have to waste as much time reading emails for credits as this is very time consuming and most marketers find their time extremely precious.
Take a look at some of the one time offers when joining a safelist, as these are not normally repeated, and you can quite often purchase a great deal for a once-off payment. I have about six paid accounts, and this enables me to send well over 100 000 emails out every week in a matter of minutes.
I belong to over 150 safelists, and by using Safelist Genie, and more recently Referral Frenzy, I manage to blast out to the best of them every week in only minutes every day.
Saving Time
This type of marketing can be very time consuming if you do this one mailer at a time, and it will take you hours each day if you belong to many different mailers.
There are better ways to spend your time building your online business, so I suggest taking the steps below if you want to make this type of advertising work for you.
If you do safelist advertising, I highly recommend becoming a member of Referral Frenzy, as this will save you a load of time each week.
You simply log on, then schedule which emails you want to send out, and when, and send to over 100 lists all at once, without having to log in to each one separately.
This is one of the best investments you can make if you do a lot of safelist marketing, as it saves you oodles of time and keeps track of all your credits, referrals and email mailings for you. You can read more about Referral Frenzy by clicking here.
When you use safelist advertising, the more emails you send out the better. As with any free advertising, numbers do make a difference.
What about credits you may ask. Most of us don’t have hours each day to click for credits. I use this company from time to time. You can also try them first free for 7 days to see whether or not it will work for you, but I use them once a week for about an hour to rack up all the credits I need. At the moment they cost $6 a month, but I only buy a month now and then when I need to ramp up my credits. If you belong to Referral Frenzy, you will get thousands of free credits each month with all the safelists, so this does help a lot.
For the most part, I don’t waste too much time clicking for credits, as I prefer to spend my time building up my affiliate marketing business.
If you want to know what the best types of things to advertise in safelists, it is other safelists or advertising sites. These types of ads convert the best, as most safelist and mailer users are looking for great advertising and ways in which to get their offers noticed.
I don’t however recommend safelist advertising to promote tangible products or non-internet marketing related niches, as most people here are not niche related and the traffic will be wasted.
If you are looking to grab some free traffic credits, visit this site and grab some promo codes from your favorite safelists, traffic exchanges, and text ad exchange sites.
You don’t even need to join to get the codes, but if you do it is Free and you get notifications each time a new safelist is added.
Hope this has helped you to get a clearer understanding of how to use safelist advertising.
