In this post, I am going to give you some suggestions according to my list of favorites for the best mindset books. You would do well to have at least one if not all of these best mindset books in your personal library, and at least one of them next to your bed at all times.
Mindset is a huge topic at the moment, and one can’t deny the fact that having a good mindset works in all areas of your life. Unfortunately, a positive mindset doesn’t just happen, you need to train yourself daily to start thinking differently.
“Mindset is a simple idea discovered by world-renowned Stanford university psychologist Carol Dweck in decades of research on achievement and success—a simple idea that makes all the difference. Teaching a growth mindset creates motivation and productivity in the worlds of business, education, and sports.“
Why Is Developing Your Mindset So Important?
Having a growth mindset is the belief that you are in control of your own ability and can still learn and improve on it.
This is the key to your success. There are of course many different types of mindsets that you can develop and change, including trust mindset, social mindset, fear mindset, envy mindset, business mindset, and lazy mindset amongst others. The more I read, the more I am learning.
Even though hard work, effort, and persistence are all very important, it is even more important to have that underlying belief that you are in fact in control of your destiny.
What you believe will affect what you achieve in the end.
Your perspectives and attitudes are part conscious and part unconscious, but they can be trained and learned, as well as unlearned and reprogrammed in a variety of different ways.
A simple positive change in your mindset will help you to become a better version of yourself.
Believe it or not, your mindset also affects your life expectancy.
Here are a few ways you can go about reprograming your mindset.
- Change the way you talk to yourself. It sounds cliche, but telling yourself you can instead of you can’t really works.
- Surround yourself with positive people.
- Be willing to change your habits to support your mindset change.
- Challenge yourself and get out of your comfort zone.
- Learn and apply what you learn. The best way to do this is to read mindset books daily. Even if it is a chapter a day, it will go a long way to improving your life and your happiness.
- Meditation is a great stress reliever and clears your mind so that you can focus.

Try reading that same book again in a year and you will likely take away another, completely different message.

Mindset: The New Psychology of Success
This is the updated edition of the book that has changed millions of lives with its insights into the growth mindset.
After decades of research, world-renowned Stanford university psychologist Carol S. Dweck, Ph., discovered a simple but groundbreaking idea: the power of mindset.
In this brilliant book, she shows how success in school, work, sports, the arts, and almost every area of human endeavor can be dramatically influenced by how we think about our talents and abilities.
People with a fixed mindset—those who believe that abilities are fixed—are less likely to flourish than those with a growth mindset—those who believe that abilities can be developed.
Mindset reveals how great parents, teachers, managers, and athletes can put this idea to use to foster outstanding accomplishments.
In this edition, Dweck offers new insights into her now famous and broadly embraced concepts.
She introduces a phenomenon she calls false growth mindset and guides people toward adopting a deeper, truer growth mindset. She also expands the mindset concept beyond the individual, applying it to the cultures of groups and organizations. With the right mindset, you can motivate those you lead, teach, and love—to transform both their lives and your own.
